Good Kitty | "Imperfectly Fused" Cat Earrings

Oh no! One of the whiskers on these “imperfectly fused” cat earrings shifted during the firing process, leaving the left earring looking a little imbalanced. Both earrings also have bits of detritus (debris that has melted onto the glass surface due to improper cleaning of the glass prior to firing) scattered across their surfaces and along their lower ear edges (see the closeups in photos #3-4). Maybe they’re still worthy of a home, despite their imperfections?



What Exactly Does “Imperfectly Fused” Mean?

”Imperfectly fused” pieces are items that underwent an unexpected change (such as a color shift, movement of a design element, over-softening or under-softening of texture, etc.), during the kiln firing process, causing their final look to diverge from the intended design, and resulting in their failure to meet Glasswork Pixie QA standards. Since their imperfections are often minor, and these pieces are still fully functional, they’re offered at a 50% discount*, hoping to find homes with people who see beauty in imperfection and who prize one-of-a-kind uniqueness.
